Overview

Words Of The Manor is a roguelike scrabble dungeon crawler game. Fight your way in and challenge your wits to take on the corrupt manor lord.  A spin to classic game Bookworm Adventures where you create words from a set of letters.

CORE GAMEPLAY

• MAIN OBJECTIVE

The player must reach the end of the mansion and defeat the final boss

• SUB OBJECTIVES

Navigate the mansion and win combat encounters. Whenever an encounter is won, the player is granted to move to the next room and meet the next encounter.

• COMBAT SYSTEM

During an encounter, a battle will commence and the player must reduce the enemy’s health to 0 by playing letters from their board to form a word.  Playing a longer word and/or uncommonly used letter grants them a stronger attack, while a few lettered words and/or playing a commonly used letter grants lesser damage. The max number of letters a player can play is 4, while the minimum is only 2.

PLAYER ACTIONS AND CONTROLS

• Player Movement (Overworld) - Classic keyboard movements with WASD, controlling the camera movement such as turning over the direction the character is facing.
• Mouse - mouse movement and clicks are heavily used to drag and drop the tiles in game

Debuff / Status Effect Tiles 

- Broken Tiles - tiles with broken status effect have 0 damage for the remaining duration of this debuff

- Locked Tiles - locked tiles are unusable during combat until they are expired

- Poisoned Tiles - these tiles deal damage every end of player's turns, until they are exhausted or swapped
